نویسندگان

چکیده

Introduction: Benign Hyperplasia of the Prostate (BHP) and prostate cancer comprise about 90% all diseases gland. An increase in serum Specific Antigen (PSA) is an indicator underlying hyperplasia, inflammation, or cancer. Mast cells are found both inflamed tumour tissue. Aim: To find correlation mast cell count with age, weight prostate, PSA level, thereby distinguishing between benign inflammatory prostatic enlargement against carcinoma. Materials Methods: This cross-sectional observational study was conducted over a period 18 months from November 2013 to April 2015 tertiary care hospital West Bengal, India. Patients coming for treatment enlarged were included this as convenience sample. Their age years, gland by ultrasonography, recorded analysis. The data malignant lesions compared Mann-Whitney U test Spearman coefficient calculated among continuous variables. Chi-square done compare categorical data. Microsoft Excel 2010 (Microsoft Inc, USA) International Business Machines (IBM) Statistical Package Social Sciences (SPSS) Statistics 20.0 (IBM, New York, software used conducting statistical tests. Results: A total 48 males median 63.5 years studied. gland, PSA, significantly higher carcinoma (rs= 0.34, p-value= 0.02) 0.61, p-value <0.0001) positively correlated overall (p-value <0.001) contributed predicting linear regression. Conclusion: level prostate. Higher size would have infiltration. showed density, which may be additional tool BHP versus Further studies needed more generalisable regression equation.

5'-nucleotidase activity in prostatic carcinoma and benign prostatic hyperplasia.

In light of previous reports of alterations in 5'-nucleotidase activity in neoplastic conditions, 5'-nucleotidase activity was examined histochemically in tissue sections and quantified biochemically in extracts of human hyperplastic prostates and prostatic carcinomas obtained surgically. The 5'-nucleotidase activities per mg protein in extracts of 29 prostatic carcinomas were lower (P less tha...
